The Tribal relationship to salmon runs deep. Often times protecting and restoring this cultural resource is a complicated undertaking which generates many questions. Why would the Yakama Nation be interested in restoration work so far from their reservation? How does the Tribe view their role in salmon recovery efforts? Why is the “innovative approach” the Yakama are taking unique? Listen in as we ask these questions and more from key players in the Yakama Nation including Tribal Councilman Gerald Lewis, Brandon Rogers, Northern Ceded Lands Habitat Manager and Hans Smith, Upper Columbia Habitat Coordinator.
