Ruth Hopkins trained as an opera singer, but she's also a pianist, a violinist and a flautist, and the founder of the K’antu Ensemble which brings early music to a wider audience. Her father’s illness when she was 21 prompted Ruth’s interest in the power of music to help people with a disability and led to a career working with children with special needs.
Far from being at odds with her musical career, doing the Oxford Executive MBA was a chance for Ruth to find out how to make more impact with her business. She talks to Kathy about the teamwork required to make good music and illustrates her point with a lesson on the shruti box!

Thanks to Ruth for allowing us to use her arrangements of Geamparale and Picardy.
