This passage includes the third of Luke's Christmas songs announcing the birth of Christ. We see the angel’s song Gloria in Excelsis Deo, which in Latin means “Glory to God in the highest!”

Angels we have heard on high, Sweetly singing o'er the plains
And the mountains in reply, Echoing their joyous strains

Gloria, in excelsis Deo, Gloria, in excelsis Deo

The angels display God's shining glory for the shepherds to see and hear.

Declaring God’s Gospel is one of the greatest ways to Display God’s Glory! This Christmas season, would you display God’s glory by declaring God’s gospel and do it with GREAT JOY!
