Regine Zylberberg the self-proclaimed inventor of the discotheque, took the world by storm, from Paris and Monte Carlo to New York City. As a young girl she was hiding from the Nazis and selling copper in the streets to get by but then things began looking up as she started working at Whiskey a Gogo. She went on to create legendary Chez Regine nightclubs, and became a revolutionary force in entertainment. Her Chez Regine clubs drew anyone who was anyone. Her glamorous venues were frequented by stars like Sophia Loren, Farrah Fawcett, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Liza Minnelli, and Jackie Gleason. On May 1, 2022, Regine passed at 92 yrs old.
