Conflict shouldn't produce a trauma response, but it so often does. If you find yourself fighting back like a vigilante hero, caving in while you silently stew, or running away from the issue (and people), you need to develop some better skills. Listen in to learn more.

  1. We all have different ways of responding to conflict based on how comfortable we are with encountering it. When it feels adversarial, a healthy response is hard to summon.

  2. When we believe in something, it's difficult not to get emotionally attached and feel personally attacked when that cause isn't accepted by others.

  3. Collaborative conflict handling helps to move past assumptions about the other party and move towards a better understanding of the issues underlying a position taken.

  4. The goal is to arrive at a solution that allows the best that can happen, not the best in your opinion.
