Fall Equinox Yoga Nidra
The spring/fall equinox occurs when the position of the Sun is exactly over the Equator, marking the beginning of the spring/autumn season. During this time, the hours of daylight and darkness are nearly equal all around the world. It is a moment of balance and harmony, symbolizing the transition from the warmth and abundance of summer to the introspection and letting go of the approaching winter. The fall equinox invites us to reflect on the changes happening within and around us, to release what no longer serves us, and to find balance in our lives. It is a time to embrace gratitude for the blessings in our lives and to set intentions for the season ahead. Yogically, we want to address our processes as we transition from season to season, bringing balance and harmony into our lives finding that source and point of equanimity within ourselves. Season changes including the increase/decrease in the amount of light are a signal to animals, plants, and people, of changing seasons. We can use a Yoga Nidra to harmonize ourselves with the seasonal changes.
