Women's voices are strong. They are powerful. They are educated, inquisitive, inventive, and just as important as any other voice, yet in certain industries they are still muffled. The beer industry is one of those industries that, while great strides in equality have been made, women's voices are still not always received at the same level as their male counterparts. I had the absolute honor and privilege of speaking with a group of 5 brilliant women in the Cincinnati beer industry about why this is, and what we can do about it.

Joining me on this panel are:

Beth O'harra - NEW Ales

Brittany Frey - MadTree Brewing

Chloe Schaefer - Miller Coors

Candace Winterbauer - Northwood Cider Co

Anique Thomas - Esoteric Brewing

Thank you to everyone who attended in person, and to everyone who listens to this incredibly important recording.

Thank you to Woodburn Brewing for opening your space for us.

If you see Metsaema on tap at any of the March First locations, buy a pint! It was brewed and released for the Women In Beer panel and Cincy Beer Week, and is named after the Estonian forest mother and guardian. This dank, piney, hoppy IPA is just as strong as the women I spoke to at this panel. Cheers!
