I Discuss with author Gavin Dow on his experiences of multi-phenomena in the Bathgate hills and focal point of Neolithic site Cairnpapple Hill.
One of the most important prehistoric monuments on the mainland of Scotland, Cairnpapple was used as a burial and ceremonial site from about 3000 to 1400 BC. A once-sacred hilltop where people first held rituals and raised neolithic monuments some 5,500 yars ago. You can visit a Neolithic henge, see the site of a great timber circle and descend into a Bronze Age cist grave (now covered by a modern, domed chamber).
