The subject of the Hebrew meaning of blood (???? – “dahm” in Hebrew) came up in a conversation this past week, so I decided to see what David had to say about blood in the Psalms. Psalm 72 tells us that the blood of the righteous is precious in the site of our Heavenly Father. Other places in Scripture tell us that life is in the blood. First use of the word in the Bible is found in Genesis where Abba tells Cain that the blood of his brother Able is crying out from the ground. Blood is the essence of life. Our blood carries our identity, and our Heavenly Father notices when our blood is spilled out. Even today, blood is tested for all manner of medical diagnosis. It carries the information that tells a doctor what the state of life is withing their patient. Blood is physically and spiritually central to the designs of our Heavenly Father’s plan for His creation. Link to John Tussey Music: https://johntussey.com/
