“Hello?” “Moshi moshi?” “Diga?” “Wei?” “Allo?”
Today, we’re celebrating Alexander Graham Bell Day, in honor of the man who created and invented the telephone. The date, March 7th, marks the date in which the U.S. Patent Office granted the patent in 1876. It was made out of necessity regarding mother who was becoming hard of hearing. While the first telephone was a large cone, it has evolved throughout the years, from a handset with a cradle that sat on the table or stuck on a wall, to a device that fits in the palm of your hand. No longer a piece of hardware for dialing a number and carrying a conversation, it now allows its owner to use email, send and read messages, and watch videos.
We’ll be listening to tracks from video games that have and/or use a telephone or mobile device: a party of kids out to the save the world, a high school student chosen to steal hearts with the help of some confidants, and a trailblazer traveling the galaxy on the Astral Express. Of course, we’ve got covers and remixes to follow each original track.
Enjoy this tracks as you listen from your mobile devices…
