Robert Gagnon is the most prolific scholar of sexuality in scripture. This past fall, well-known New Testament scholar, Richard Hays, published The Widening of God’s Mercy, co-authored with his son Christopher (an Old Testament professor at Fuller Seminary). This book shows that not only has Richard Hays changed his mind about the bible and sexual ethics, but so has God. Gagnon authored several responses to the Hayeses and he joined me to critique their book.
