Metaphors And Storytelling Are The Method Of Choice
Oscar believes in the power of using metaphors and storytelling instead of building your presentation on facts and data. Many people, especially in the tech world, want to be perceived as experts by using jargon and technical vocabulary. However, this technique has rather the opposite effect as it creates a distance with the audience. Using more tangible elements instead are a way of simplifying the message on the one hand and of landing it with the audience on the other hand.

Less tangible but all the more crucial ingredients of a convincing presentation are the confidence the speakers have in themselves and the passion they are able to show. After a decade and a half in the technology arena, he embarked on a mission to help people in technology companies present better, inspire others, and sell more. Since 2014, he is hosting the public speaking podcast Time to Shine, for which he has interviewed more than 150 communication professionals. He works as a sales engineer at Ubisecure, in which he hosts a podcast and leads the company’s product training program. He has also contributed as a speaking coach in three TEDx events.
