In this episode, Allie and Jody speak with Jay Ell Alexander, CEO of national running group Black Girls Run, who explains why this all-female community has grown and grown. Having joined the group from its foundation, Jay took over as CEO and took the running group to 250,000 members in 35 states, making it one of the biggest running communities in the US. Jay explains how the group came about, the challenges it faced and still faces, how brands now see Black Girls Run as an opportunity to diversify their customer base and why running groups offer more than just the opportunity to run. Plus, Jay explains the e-Race Racism challenge that takes place in August: https://raceroster.com/events/2020/32839/erace-racism-supporting-black-girls-run Enjoy!
