The World Famous Insurance Dudes chat with Kris Plachy Dudespeak: Mr. Craig - Coaching is something that everyone, I mean EVERYONE should do for others, and have others do for them. As an agency owner you MUST coach your team. Over the years as I struggled to transformation and connected with insanely talented mentors inside and outside our industry, I noticed how many agency owners seemed too proud to invest in coaching, and too scattered around to invest their time in coaching their teams. I would hear things like, “DAILY MEETINGS?! We don’t even do weekly meetings!” or, “I don’t need to coach my team...We’ve all been in this industry for decades.” It’s the people with these very mindsets who seem to really be struggling during these “uncertain times.” It’s been my experience that the only thing us Insurance Dudes and Dudettes have any say in, is the excuses we make or the commitments we follow through on. Mr Jason and I made a commitment to our teams to grow when everyone else was shrinking, to invest in leads and teleteams when everyone else was laying people off, and to increase our marketing when it seemed crazy to do so. Why? We’ve been talking to and strategizing with some of the most amazing business people and thought leaders for around 2 years now...And as a good friend of ours said, “You’re the sum of the 5 people you are around the most.” Our coaches and our coaching of the teams we lead have taken us to places we never would think was possible on our own. Mr. Jason - Woman Power Week! Oh wait, Dudette Power week… well I need to work on that title… Kris was great and she gave us leadership advice from the experience of a power CEO who led 250 person team!
