In this deeply personal episode, I share the moment I realized I had to walk away from my mother, not out of anger, but out of survival. For years, I held on to hope that she would change, that she would finally choose me the way I had spent my life choosing her. But when my younger brother was caught in an FBI sting, when my mother defended him instead of holding him accountable, when I was forced into the role of ensuring my niece’s safety, it all became clear.

The cycle wasn’t going to break itself. I had to be the one to break it.

This episode is about connecting the dots, from my childhood abuse at the hands of my older half-brother, to my younger brother becoming a father at 13, to the moment I set my final boundaries with my mother. It’s about realizing that protecting my own children meant stepping away, for good.

If you’ve ever struggled with setting boundaries, if you’ve ever felt the weight of generational trauma on your shoulders, if you’ve ever wondered what it really takes to break the cycle, this episode is for you.
