In 1620, the Mayflower landed in the Cape Code area bringing settlers over from England, or what some may call the Pilgrims. Among this historical bunch of grand explorers was the Billington family, which according the logs kept by William Bradford (First settlers Plymouth Governor) were a surly bunch of hooligans.
John Billington and his family were known on the Mayflower among a group of people as the "Strangers". On the Mayflower were the crew members, the Puritans and the Strangers...everyone had a task to do. Apparently, the only task the Billington family had was causing havoc...as noted by William Bradford, one of those pesky Billington boys almost burned down the Mayflower due to his mischievous behaviors!
So, join us as we dive into the story of John Billington, and his murder of Mr. John Newcomen, shipboard antics, life on the Mayflower, and some other historical shenanigans!
