Energex crews have been able to reduce the number of customers without power in South-East Queensland from over 315,000 to under 210,000 in the last 24 hours, but the mammoth task is only just beginning.
Energex Spokesperson Danny Donald told Peter Fegan on 4BC's Special Coverage, "Yesterday they restored [power for] 137,000 customers."
"If this weather continues to clear a little bit, we might be able to get the choppers up too and start assessing some of the places that we can't get into at the moment," Donald continued.
