Narada, a devoted sage and messenger of the gods, prided himself on his unwavering worship of Vishnu. However, Vishnu tests Narada's devotion through a simple task: deliver a lamp filled with precious oil around the earth without spilling a drop. Narada succeeds, showcasing his dedication and skill.

Vishnu then asks Narada to observe a humble farmer, Jagadas, and report back on his daily activities. Arrogantly assuming Jagadas lacks devotion, Narada observes Jagadas's simple life, finding fault in his infrequent mention of Vishnu's name.

Confronting Vishnu with his observations, Narada expresses his belief that Jagadas is heading to hell. Vishnu gently corrects Narada, pointing out that while Narada focused on the technicalities of his task, Jagadas, through his daily toil and family care, silently worshipped him, making time for a single prayer before sleep.

Vishnu reveals that true devotion lies not in outward show but in the heartfelt connection with him, wherever his devotees call his name.
