Article: Born to Run- Secrets of the Tarahumara
Book: Born to Run by Christopher McDougall
"Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall is an epic story that explores the hidden tribe of the Tarahumara people in the remote Copper Canyons of Mexico, who are known for their incredible long-distance running ability. The book also delves into the science behind running and how humans are biologically designed to run long distances.
In the book McDougall discusses the idea that modern running shoes with thick soles and excessive support may actually be causing more harm than good, and that a more natural approach to running may lead to fewer injuries. McDougall also presents the argument that humans are evolved to be able to run for long distances, citing studies that show humans are the ultimate endurance athletes.
Overall, "Born to Run" is a fascinating exploration of human evolution and the potential for human endurance, as well as a riveting adventure story that introduces readers to a unique and inspiring community of runners.
