Hello people, welcome to the when in Yorkshire podcast I hope you’re well. This is episode seventy one and features one of my favourite bassists and all round delightful humans, Jason Black of Hot Water Music.
Having previously chatted to Chuck and Chris, I continue my collection of this band and I absolutely loved spending time with Jason - he is a fundamental part of what makes this band so special and along with George Robelo, forms one of my favourite rhythm sections playing today.
Having spent the past 30 years rocking the world and influencing countless bands, Jason is incredibly humble and still has such an infectious passion for music across multiple genres. We chat about his musical education, how the world of music has changed, writing process and the bands he’d love to tour with. We chat about split ep’s and on that note they’ve just released another split with Quicksand which is brilliant and well worth checking out.
This episode was recorded on the second night of their shows at The Brudenell Social Club in Leeds with a great line up including Catbite and A Wilhelm Scream.
