’60 Minutes or less’ - the podcast from Birthday Cake For Breakfast - returns for episode twenty four and we welcome our guests Sweeping Promises, gnarly husband and wife duo with the best names in the business, Lira Mondal and Caufield Schnug!
Debut album ‘Hunger for a Way Out’ arrived via Feel It Records in deepest, darkest Covid times and was a total breath of fresh air, a post-punk gem that soundtracked many a sanctioned walk time whilst I was locked down. Along with a number of discoveries at the time - the likes of Stuck, Snooper and Deeper - the uncertainty of the pandemic had us thinking we might not ever see them live, so I hoovered up everything they’d put out with gusto.
In mid-2023, the duo released their follow up record ‘Good Living Is Coming For You’, their label debut for Sub Pop and - free from the pandemic - we finally managed to catch them in the flesh when they played Manchester later in the year.
Having bigged them up from the off, it was a no brainer to have them on the podcast and so four years to the day the band released their debut full length, we caught up over Zoom in August of this year for a chat about their recent marriage, halloween, being in a video game and - great news - that they’re working on their third record!
We’re in December now and boy wouldn’t it be a real Christmas treat to rate this podcast on your chosen platform! Why not gift your loved ones too with news of ’60 Minutes or less’ - it’ll cost you nowt! If you like the episode, let us know. Find us on the socials and everything else here!
