Both Hoover and Guy’s lives take a sharp turn in the early 50’s.  Their lives and roles both radically shifted from the saviors of the nation, putting away gangsters and murderers, toward more politically-flavored interests.  At the center of these interests lies a mid-century ideological boogeyman.  And at the center of the other changes in Guy’s life and career, his big mouth.
