Heavenly Father, rich in mercy
The promise keeper for all generations
I still myself before you, the calm in the chaos.
Longing for more for my friends, my family, my city and my world
Longing for hope
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light,
and yet, I see darkness stealing hope and joy everyday
As I bring these before you, all my hurt, bitterness and fears,
I return to the baby at Bethlehem
Hope for all mankind, in a lowly stable
Fill me with the hope of Mary,
the knowledge that this child is the fulfilment of your promises
As I rejoice in the birth of the saviour, lead me to see the world in the knowledge that hope
has come
That Hope has a name that is greater than every situation
As I pray, let Hope be my anthem, the reason to pray, and the outcome of my prayers
Hope has come
The people now walk in the light
And the light has overcome the darkness
