We begin the enormous Fassbinder television miniseries adaptation of Berlin Alexanderplatz and immediately find it much more representative of our feelings about the book and its structures. Also, Fassbinder is just incredibly good at shooting some handsome if unpleasant television. Biberkopf might be suffering, but we are not.

ALSO NOTE: Autumn’s audio is just going to have radiator hiss until winter breaks. It’s fine.

Things discussed: Dog Man, smart watches, Groundhog Day, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Evangelion (manga), Honey and Clover, Clamp School Detectives, the state of digital books and comics, Cam Marshall's Patreon which you should support, Ashita no Joe, Niamh went to a magic show, Andi Gladwin's Fool Us performance, Lucy Darling (Carisa Hendrix)'s TikTok

The opening theme this season is “Das lila Lied” sung by Ute Lemper
