TammyJo Eckhart, PhD, has been part of the BDSM Scene since 1989. Her fiction crosses genres including contemporary, fantasy, historical, horror, and science fiction and ranges from novel to microfiction length. Her non-fiction works cover subjects ranging from alternative sexuality, history, relationship advice, to the challenges of trauma recovery. She holds a PhD in Ancient History with doctoral minors in Gender & Sexuality and Folklore. She has served on the steering committees of two university kink organizations, Conversio Virium (Columbia University 1994-1997) and Headspace (Indiana University 1997-2003) as well as helping organize the Applemunch (NYC 1995-1997). In 2019, she was given the Master Jack McGeorge Excellence in Education Award at the Master/slave Conference in the D.C. area for her two plus decades of teaching about BDSM. TammyJo lives in Indiana as head of her poly, omnisexual, kinky household. While she presents “woman” most often, she identifies primarily as genderqueer since it is inclusive of the complexity of her gender, sexuality, and personality.
