The Magi find Jesus, give him gifts, and flee from Herod’s wrath. Herod throws a fit, and Jesus and his family take flight to safety in Egypt.
Four prophecies are fulfilled:
Isaiah 60: And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Jeremiah 31: Thus says the Lord: ‘A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.’
Hosea 11: I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.
Psalm 72: May desert tribes bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust! May the kings of Tarshish and of the coastlands render him tribute; may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts!
