Oftentimes albums which would go on to become influential and formative works for entire genres have a certain spark to them that, in retrospect, seems obvious and apparent. You listen and can go "Oh, I understand how this became important to a lot of people." Even if the quality isn't great or the songwriting isn't as tight as it could be, that spark is there and you can feel it.
