As the late Billionaire and two-time political candidate Ross Perot once said, "If you see a snake, just kill it; don’t appoint a committee of snakes.”
Today’s film is an attempt by a High School teacher who tries to make a snake out of a student, and in turn makes himself a real-life snake, dismantling his life as he knows it. Are you following along yet? Good, because it is time to vote, and in this episode, we pick Flick, a teen flick, that is, of course. It's the 1999 film that pits student against student, brother against sister, and a sad Midwest teacher against himself, so grab your ballot, its the teen satire, ELECTION - Let’s GO!
This film is directed by multi-time Academy Award Winner and Nominee Alexander Payne and features Reese Witherspoon in her audition for Elle Woods, Chris Klein in his debut role, and Matthew Broderick in yet another classic shower scene. Is there anything funnier than politics in America right now? We think not! In this episode, Amy & Dan discuss Ross Perot’s historic run as a third-party candidate, critique the use of voiceover in film, and avoid talking about the elephant in the room that is the 2024 US presidential election.
