Kelly and Tristen analyze recent developments in German and Syrian politics and the recent G20 summit in South Africa. Kelly then turns to Edward Fishman for an update on Ukraine and Russia.
Edward is the author of the new book, Chokepoints: American Power in the Age of Economic Warfare, which focuses on the evolution of sanctions as a tool of US foreign policy. He served in the Treasury, Defense, and State departments from 2011 to 2017, including in the Office of Economic Sanctions Policy and Implementation, and on Secretary of State John Kerry’s policy planning staff.
