Zofia is a British born documentary film maker and human rights activist who has been living in Philadelphia since 2010. She is director of Neviah Films, a TV and film production company that introduces new perspectives into public debate to encourage action and inspire “agents of change”. While carrying out research for her latest film “Grow A Pear”, a feature length documentary that examines the effects of GMOs on human health and the environment, she became passionate about the issues facing our nation’s food supply. This quickly led her to the local food movement in Pennsylvania and to meeting Annmarie Cantrell and Karen Stark who had just formed GMO Free PA. This was the beginning of her work as a safe food advocate. GMO Free PA is a state-wide grassroots group whose mission is to publicize the newest research and information regarding the risks of genetically engineered foods, assist and educate consumers in selecting vendors and products that are GMO free, and advocate for legislation that requires mandatory GMO labeling in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Zofia is also co-founder of the non-profit organization Citizens for GMO Labeling, a national grassroots movement of mothers, fathers, farmers and citizens dedicated to ensuring our basic right of knowing what we’re feeding our families. Its mission is to raise public awareness across the U.S., engage grassroots activists and pass legislation calling for clear and immediate GMO labeling on the state and ultimately federal level.

Zofia has become well recognized as an advocate for food justice issues and GMO labeling and is invited to speak at events on a regular basis. She lives with her husband, son and rescue cat in Wynnewood.
