RECAP TIME:

Xethir wanted to resurrect his dead god, the Unbeing, to do so he needed fragments of the Unbeing’s hearthstones. But our heroes were a step ahead. They realised Xethir had put the job of finding the heartstone fragment to market and they would take take the job and seize the fragment.

Finally in the greatest city in the world, our heroes explored the lower city of Sehira and prepared to find the Analyst. They quickly escaped a group of elite Opari Knights wanted Ahmaya for the theft of a relic and the murder of her father, the leader of a rebellion in the Opari.

Freya soon found the Analyst at the Artificer Guild reclamation yard. Ripped from its home and dying, the Analyst machine told her that the Chains of Faith gripped the empire weakening the gods, and an agent of the Chains hunted clerics like her. That agent was the Clockwork Man.

After a brutal fight with an Unnanointed scholar trying to destroy the Analyst, Freya transferred the soul that had come to inhabit the Analyst in her God’s Lantern, and they fled to the Inn where they prepared for their briefing: the heartstone fragment job was about to begin.

They met with a construct of the Apotheos, under a bridge in Miras Kàlorn and successfully posing as adventurers with no skin in the game. But the construct was in fact the Clockwork man, and it revealed they were to be chaperoned on this mission by non other that Leonitis Balren, Ora’s soon-to-be father-in-law.
