An affirmation: is an affirming story we tell ourselves to empower ourselves and build strong personal belief in ourselves.
Most people when you ask them for an affirmation might say something like :
- I love myself, I look good I feel good, I am proud of myself and how I treat others, I am great, I am strong, I am healthy, I am capable, I am a champion,
While yes these are positive affirmations little mantras that create momentum in making a more positive mindset they don’t necessarily dig deep enough to build belief in ourselves to create the resilience we need to power through hardship.
So here are my dig deeper stories I tell myself to get through particularly hard times and situations:
- If anyone else can do it surely I can too …and find a way to do it better
- Nothing is fucking wrong with me
- God wants me to live and suffer … no matter what happens I will be okay; people go through ups and downs, but I have the strength resilience and resourcefulness to overcome any obstacles or challenges.
- Am I being open to synchronicity or am I sitting in comfort? When we set goals we only know what we know . I know that the rewards of hard work outweigh the work I am willing to do the work to reach my goals and know that as big as I can dream I can never know all that is available to me because we only know what we know so be open to people experiences connections and opportunities.
- Time reveals all truths my mom taught me this one to deal with anger
