The expressions of hope in The Phantom Menace are rather different from the expressions of hope in the Original Trilogy movies. A lot of that owes to the differences in the state of the Galaxy Far, Far Away during those two eras. Hope is more of a "diffuse" concept in The Phantom Menace, and instead of being personalized, the focus is more on the ripple effect that one person can create. Punch it!
