I traveled up to Alabama to RO the Carbon Hill Hunter Classic put on by Mike Lilly this past weekend and it was a blast. Normally the range at Alabama Precision (AP) is host to Precision Rifle Series matches, to my knowledge this is the first time AP has hosted a NRL Hunter event. Even though this was the first event Hunter event at AP Mike and his family, Kili & Cameron, put together an awesome experience for the hunters that attended.
For those wondering, we did use the same range and some props from the field as we do at PRS matches but it didn't feel like the normal match. For the NRL Hunter series you carry all the gear you wish to use on your back, no carts or driving around in the truck. You have 4 minutes ( 6 as a team) to find, range, and engage your targets. There are no reshoots, no pre-stage glassing, and no sharing info with buddies. This is a match of just you and your equipment.
Stay tuned as I talk with some on the competitors from the match.
