Rene Sel and Charles Duquet arrives as indentured servants in New France in the late 1600s. They are purchased by Claude Trepagny who takes them to his cabin deep in the woods. Charles is not doing so well but connects a little with Mari over the spoiled ram secret they keep. Mr. Cooke appears to have some secret business with Lafarge, and Mathilde also seems to be involved. Hamish Goames with Yvon are on a mission to discover what happened to Mr Cross. Then Mother Sabrine, was a bit of a surprise being supportive of Melissande.
