Self-care is anything that you do for yourself that feels nourishing. It requires checking in with yourself and asking yourself how you’re doing and what your body’s asking for. Everyone’s definition of self care is unique. Do what brings you more sustained joy, nourishing body mind and soul. Be mindful and tune into your own needs.
- Get enough sleep
- Spend time in nature
- Exercise
- Meditate
- Eat more fruit and vegetables
- Be kind to yourself
- Take a break from news/social media
- Take time for yourself
- Pay attention to how your body feels
- Respect your own nervous system by taking breaks when you need them and not getting overstimulated or overtaxed
- Self advocate for what you need
- Be willing to do things differently / rethink traditions and what is meaningful to you
- Remember that you always have choices
