In Australia, recent months have seen an escalation of attacks on synagogues, buildings, and cars of Jewish community members across the country, which spiked after the October 7th 2023 Hamas attack on southern Israel and ongoing war. In a bid to try to tackle the surge in antisemitic attacks, lawmakers recently passed anti-hate crime laws. Sydney resident Dionne Taylor, who serves as Australian emissary for the Israel-Is advocacy organization, spoke to KAN reporter Naomi Segal about what the Jewish community is experiencing.
