Farmers across Israel are suffering from increased violence, theft and vandalism. Most recently, vandals torched the hay barn of a dairy farmer in moshav Nahalal in the Jezereel valley, burning over a million shekels worth of straw and other feed. The organization HaShomer HaHadash aids farmers protect their fields and livestock. They have come to the aide of the dairy farmer in Nahal and are trying to raise funds to buy feed so he can save his herd and farm, founded over 100 years ago. Neta Ben-Barak is a fourth generation dairy farmer and spoke to KAN English about the trials and challenges of making a living from agriculture amid this heightened attacks on Jewish farmers.
