CDC Releases new guidelines for cruise ship travelers. These new recommendations include healthy guests disembarking should get home as quickly and safely as possible and self-quarantine for 14 days. Cruises lines much get travelers directly to their homes via charters or private transport, commercial and public means may not be used. If you are showing symptoms do not travel with other people who are not showing symptoms. Cruise lines are responsible for anything showing symptoms including those that need medical care and should arrange medical transport. Cruise lines must disclose all suspected cases with local health and port authorities. Genting cruises have announced comprehensive new health guidelines for their cruises. These include mandatory temperature screening for preboarding. Higher frequency cleanings, proof of doctors' certificate of fitness for travel if over 70 years of age. Rooms will be disinfected twice per day, public areas on average every 2 hours. 100% fresh external filtered air will be supplied to all cabins and public areas and filters cleaned regularly. Disney extends cruise suspensions through April 28th. Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund has taken an 8.2% stake in Carnival and is now the third-largest shareholder. This will hopefully also give them access to resources if additional investment is needed for a prolonged return to cruising. Any questions or topics you would like us to cover?
