Super excited to share this soul-nourishing interview with Elisabet Lahti, an author, activist and researcher of life force and everyday transformational leadership!
Elisabet talks about the concept of sisu, a Finnish word for determination and inner fortitude in the face of extreme adversity, and how her own experience of inter-personal violence led her to not just study sisu, but to test the concept by undertaking a 50-day ultra-running challenge across New Zealand (wow!).
One of Elisabet's biggest insights during the challenge was that often it's easier for us to be real harsh and judgemental towards ourselves rather than gentle and compassionate, and that the ability to honour ourselves isn't always a given...
She also talks about cultivating and nurturing life force, clear-intentioned leadership, ability to show up in the world, and remaining supple in a world that offers so many opportunities to be harsh - and much, much more.
"Fear less and love more."
