Professor Elizabeth Beattie, PhD, RN, FGA, FAAN
Elizabeth Beattie is a psychogeriatric nurse with extensive clinical, educational and research expertise gained in Australia, the UK and the US. Her first exposure to specialised mental health care for older adults was at Bethlem Royal and Maudsley Hospitals, London in the 1970s. She has an enduring research interest in improving care quality for older adults experiencing dementia via intervention development and training the next generation of gerontological nurse scientists. Most recently she has been a Director of the Research Centre for Research Collaboration and of Dementia Training Australia. She is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
