This week, we're discussing the controversial CANCEL CULTURE in regards to celebrity perpetrators of sexual assault and the psychology behind predators- can they change and be safely reintegrated back into society? We talk about actors such as James Franco, Kevin Spacey, and Armie Hammer- what they were accused of, how they responded to such claims, and if we think they should be allowed to return to their careers (and if so, under what conditions). Do these people, or any sexual predators, deserve a second chance? Can they be redeemed through rehabilitation? What does it mean if we, as a society, consider their humanity despite the things they've done? Does it take away from the pain of their victims, or can it help break the cycle of abuse?
As usual, we ask more questions than we answer but we hope this episode makes you think. We also talk about how many female celebrities have been cancelled for much less, if celebrities deserve to have their lives publicly discussed and analyzed, and the age-old question- are these people sorry for what they did, or simply sorry they got caught?
Thank you so much for listening, and please give us a rating/ review if you have the time; it really helps. Also give us a follow on our IG, @girltalkinhellpodcast, where we post updates and silly little things Madison makes.
