As a result of the pandemic, young learners are entering our schools having had fewer opportunities to socialize with peers, develop agency and grow fundamental numeracy, early language and literacy skills. During this Equity Talks, join Los Angeles School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, and Sesame Workshop Vice President of Media and Education, Akimi Gibson to learn why it’s imperative for education leaders to think beyond helping kids prepare for school, by helping schools prepare for kids. Together, we will explore key opportunities to scale research-based strategies that ensure our nation’s most vulnerable young students are met with developmentally appropriate whole-child support that promotes greater academic success and life outcomes.
