In this episode of the Changing Birth podcast, I discusses the topic of gestational diabetes, which affects 20% of pregnant women in Australia. Drawing from personal experience and professional insights, I aim to provide positive tips, empowering information, and practical strategies to help you manage gestational diabetes. We cover the physiological causes of gestational diabetes, testing methods, controversies around diagnosis criteria, and lifestyle changes such as dietary changes and exercise that can help manage blood sugar levels. I also share many of my top foods and easy to prepare meals to eat when managing gestational diabetes.

This episode is brought to you by Coast Yoga. Coast Yoga is located in Glenelg, South Australia and offer combined prenatal yoga and birth education sessions. Each class includes yoga and pilates, pelvic floor strengthening and awareness, and breathing and relaxation exercises. One of the things I love most about Coast Yoga and their prenatal class is the community and connection - starting to build your village and making meaningful connections with other women in pregnancy is so beneficial.
