When the opportunity cropped up to record a podcast on renewable natural gas – RNG – we jumped at it. This is a fascinating technology that is evolving fast and looks set to play an increasingly large role in the energy mix.
In this latest episode of Infra Dig, Angus Leslie Melville – editorial director of IJGlobal (a Green Street company) – talked to US-based Chet Benham, president and chief operating officer of Viridi Energy, to find out all about RNG.
This podcast was prompted by news earlier this summer that Viridi had signed a 20-year offtake agreement with Quebec-based Énergir for pipeline-quality RNG from its waste-to-energy facilities in Brunswick, Maine; Marathon County, Wisconsin; and Bethlehem, New Hampshire.
This is a fascinating discussion that will be of interest to anyone who has an eye on the evolving energy mix.
