In 1999, Englishman David Harker, known in the media as the “cannibal killer”, was convicted of brutally murdering, dismembering and eating Julie Paterson in his flat located in Darlington County, Durham, England about 70 miles north of Leeds. Julie, who was murdered in April of 1998, had just met David a few weeks prior. So, why would David kill a woman he just met?
