This week, we are taking a moment away from our traditional episodes to discuss mother nature’s fury that was unleashed on the Southeast by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. As this episode airs, there are still families and businesses who are recovering from the devastation of the two storms. In this episode, we invited individuals in our community who tell us their first hand accounts of dealing with the storms, how they prepared, and the post-storm clean up that is now taking place.

We are joined by Sarasota Commissioner from District 3 (and former Mayor), Erik Arroyo, Melissa Borders of Capo Pazzo Pizzeria, and Sarasota Police Chief, Rex Troche. During our discussion, we get a better understanding of the work that went on prior to each hurricane’s arrival, and how our communities faired during storms.
