In this week's episode, Brad Sasser, also known as Shep on the Trail, is a trail chaplain who serves and blesses hikers primarily on the East Coast along the Florida Trail and the Appalachian Trail. He and his wife, Michelle, have been involved in outdoor ministry since 2019. He also talks about his journey from being a pastor to becoming a trail chaplain and how outdoor recreation and nature play a role in his ministry. He also talks about a time of burnout in his life when he was a bivocational accountant and a pastor, and how he learned to prioritize his relationship with God, his family, and his work. Brad emphasizes the importance of finding hobbies and activities that recharge and refresh the soul, and the need for pastors and ministry leaders to take time for their self and their family. He also discusses the consumer mentality in churches and the importance of every member playing a part in serving and building up the body of Christ.
