Jean Hansen is the founder of Ipê City, an innovative initiative aimed at reimagining the future of urban living and governance through the integration of cutting-edge technologies like AI, blockchain, and decentralized systems.
It’s not a traditional city in the physical sense (at least not yet), but rather a "startup society"—a community and experimental framework designed to prototype solutions for the cities of tomorrow. The project is driven by a vision to address the inefficiencies and stagnation of current governance systems, leveraging digital tools to create more transparent, efficient, and equitable societal structures.
At its core, Ipê City began with a one-month "pop-up village" called Ipê Village, held from April 22 to May 22, 2025, in Jurerê Internacional, Florianópolis, Brazil—a tech-savvy region nicknamed the "Silicon Island" or "Island of Magic." This event brought together around 150 global talents—creators, engineers, entrepreneurs, and visionaries—to live, collaborate, and build prototypes for governance, finance, education, health, and other key areas.
