Every year, from May 6-12, the American Nurses Association celebrates Nurses Week. At SSR, we are always grateful and appreciative of the dedication and hard work nurses give day in and day out. This year especially, we wanted to extend a happy Nurses Week and a very big THANK YOU to all the incredible nursing professionals and friends.

To celebrate the essential healthcare innovations engineered by the nursing profession, we were both delighted and inspired by our wonderful conversation with Dr. Oriana Beaudet this month.

As a Registered Nurse, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Public Health Nurse, and leading Nurse Futurist, Oriana Beaudet is the Vice President of Nursing Innovation for the American Nursing Association (ANA) Enterprise.

Her unique journey of nursing is fascinating and it’s easy to grasp what fuels her passion for nursing innovation.

We learned lessons in how these experiences help to shape modern healthcare environment design challenges.

The conversation highlighted…

  • The role of innovation as a fulcrum to shift practice, behavior, and culture.
  • How to build innovation across the profession of nursing.
  • What the year 2041 might look like and the importance of the Nurse Futurist role in designing and implementing transformative healthcare technology.
  • New initiatives around the ‘Home-spital’, leveraging telehealth services and the advancing extension of care to the patient’s home.
  • Taking creative leaps and overcoming the rubber band effect.
